When an add-on says "Out of date"

  1. Check the add-on's page here and on the author's site for a newer file marked for Forever. Authors often update within hours of a patch.
  2. No new file yet: on the character screen open AddOns and tick Load out of date AddOns.
  3. Install BugSack. If the add-on throws errors, untick it and wait for the update.
  4. Once your add-ons are updated, untick Load out of date AddOns again so the next patch tells you clearly what broke.

FAQ

What does "Out of date" mean on launch day?

The add-on's .toc lists a different interface number than the live client. Look for a newer file marked for Forever on the author's page first. If there is none, tick Load out of date AddOns on the character screen and watch for errors.

How do I check the interface number?

Type /dump select(4, GetBuildInfo()) in chat. The number it prints is what add-on .toc files need to list. During the beta it was 16001.

Where is the AddOns folder for Forever?

In the Battle.net app pick World of Warcraft: Forever, click the gear next to Play and choose Show in Explorer or Show in Finder. Add-ons go in _forever_/Interface/AddOns.
