Questie not working in WoW Forever: not showing quests, wrong pins, alternatives

If Questie is not showing quests in WoW Forever, or shows ones that aren't there, that's mostly expected for now: its quest data is still being built. The Questie team says so directly: many quests show incorrectly in Forever and will for quite some time, because every new quest has to be found, added and checked by hand.

Questie does have a Forever version. The add-on loads; the data is what's incomplete.

Questie not showing quests, or pins with nothing there

• An exclamation mark with no NPC nearby: reported here, and the team pointed to the same pinned explanation.
• Quests shown before you meet the requirements: also known.
• Quests that exist but aren't shown: the database doesn't have them yet.

Update often. Questie's releases bundle new quest data, and they've come several times a month.

Things you can fix

• Wrong game folder: Questie must be in _forever_/Interface/AddOns. Its Forever download is a bundle with its quest database.
• Quest tracker blank: one reporter had only a title bar and fixed it by deleting Questie and its saved settings, then reinstalling. Try the tracker switch in Questie's options first.
• Errors: install BugSack and report the first line on Questie's tracker, with your Questie version.

How to help

The team asks players to run QuestieTrace, which records quest data as you play so you can share it with them. It's the fastest way those gaps get filled.

Questie alternatives

• The game itself: the Enhanced preset turns on quest objective areas on your map.
• TomTom: a waypoint arrow you aim yourself. It needs no quest data, so it works in every zone today.
• RestedXP Guides: step-by-step routes. Also has a Forever build, and also depends on routes being written for Forever's zones.
