Details not working in WoW Forever: not showing damage, Lua errors

If Details is not working in WoW Forever, update it first: an older build showed empty windows with no error at all. Details! does have a Forever version, so most problems come from an old file, the wrong file, or a lost window.

Details not showing damage

Windows open and you can pick segments, but no bars appear. That was reported on Details' tracker in October: test bars worked, BugSack caught nothing, and a newer build fixed it.

1. Update to the latest Forever build. Its Wago page lists Forever releases.
2. In the CurseForge app, a maintainer's advice at the time was to right-click Details and change its release type to get the newest file. Go back to normal releases once a stable one is out.
3. Fight something, then check the window again. Details shows nothing until there's data.

Details window missing

An open report describes the first window vanishing on some characters after an October update, with errors at login. Type /details show, and /details to list the other commands. If a window is missing from the options' window list, add a new one.

Details Lua error

1. Install BugSack so errors don't interrupt you.
2. Update Details and restart the game fully.
3. Disable Details' plugins and /reload. If the error stops, a plugin is the cause.
4. Search the tracker for the first line of the error. If it isn't there, report it with your Details version and say you play WoW Forever.

Numbers look different from what you expect

Forever appears to use the same add-on rules as retail, where combat information is restricted. Details' code has a separate parser for that case and uses the game's damage-meter API. If something like pet damage or interrupts looks off, that may be why rather than a bug on your side. We can't confirm the details until live, so post what you see.

If nothing works

Icy Veins reports a built-in damage meter in Forever's Advanced Options, which we'll confirm on launch night. Skada and Recount had no Forever release when we last checked: see the meter comparison.
