How to install addons in WoW Forever, step by step

To install addons in WoW Forever, download the add-on, put its folder in _forever_/Interface/AddOns, restart the game and turn it on from the character screen. That's the whole process. An add-on manager does the same thing for you.

By hand

1. Find the folder. In the Battle.net app, pick Forever, click the gear next to Play and choose Show in Explorer or Finder. Then open _forever_/Interface/AddOns. Exact paths here.
2. Download the add-on from its author's page. Every add-on in our directory links there. Pick the file marked for Forever.
3. Unzip it and move the folders into AddOns. Each folder must have a .toc file directly inside it.
4. Restart the game fully. New add-ons only appear after a restart.
5. Turn it on. On the character screen, click AddOns and tick it.

With an add-on manager

What to install first

Start small: BugSack and BugGrabber to catch errors, Details! Damage Meter, Deadly Boss Mods (DBM), TomTom. The launch hub has the short list, and the compatibility tracker shows what has a Forever version.

If it doesn't show up

Check that it went into _forever_, that the .toc isn't one folder too deep, and that you restarted. More in troubleshooting.
