Yes, Plater works in WoW Forever: release 662 lists a Forever interface line, per its GitHub release, and Wago lists a Forever file. We last checked on 2 November, before launch, so update it first. Its add-on page shows the current status.

Where to download it

Choose the Forever file. For managers and manual installs, see how to install add-ons.

Do you need it?

Probably not while you're levelling, unless you already know you want it. Blizzard's development notes list nameplate fixes on the default UI, including Elite status and clickable debuff icons. Try those first.

Plater is worth it if you're a tank who wants threat colours, or a healer or caster who wants clear cast bars and your own debuffs easy to read.

What to change first

The default profile is already useful, so don't start with scripts and mods. Change these first:

  1. The size of the nameplate, until you can read it in a group.
  2. Which debuffs you can see, so your own are easy to spot.
  3. Threat colours if you tank. Plater has them out of the box.

Importing a profile

Plater profiles export as strings. Paste one in from the profile section of Plater's options, then /reload. Keep a copy of your own profile first, since it's easy to overwrite.

Only import strings from sources you trust, because Plater profiles can include scripts. Retail profiles may reference spells that Forever doesn't have, so expect to tidy them up. For what's in a string, see profile strings explained.
