Forever has PvP and Roleplay PvP rulesets, plus a new 15 vs 15 battleground, Battle for the Darkspear Islands. World PvP while leveling and objective-based battlegrounds call for different tools.
World PvP while leveling
- Spy lists nearby enemy players it detects through the combat log and alerts you when one shows up. On a busy PvP ruleset it's the addon people ask about most, but it has no Forever release yet. Its page will tell you when that changes.
- Readable enemy nameplates help you spot who's a player and what class they are. Plater Nameplates,
Kui Nameplates and Threat Plates can colour by class and show casts clearly.
Battlegrounds
- Capping adds timers for objectives, respawns and flag carriers in battlegrounds. It has a Forever release; timers for a brand-new battleground need explicit support, so check whether Darkspear Islands is covered.
- A compact raid frame (Grid2 or
VuhDo) helps healers in a 15-player group more than the default party frames.
Things that don't help
- Addons that claim to find players' positions through walls or show hidden information do not exist as legitimate addons; the game doesn't expose that data. Downloads that promise it are scams.
- Too many alerts. In a big fight, the addon shouting at you is one more thing to read. Turn off everything you don't act on.
Status
PvP addons depend on combat log and battleground data that may differ in Forever. Our compatibility tracker shows what's confirmed; if you test one on a PvP ruleset, a one-line report on the forum helps.
