ElvUI vs a modular UI for WoW Forever

ElvUI replaces almost the whole interface in one add-on. The alternative is to keep Blizzard's frames and fix the parts you don't like with small add-ons. Both work in Forever; they fail differently.

Our verdict

ElvUI if you want one consistent look and one place to configure it, and you're happy to update it promptly. Its Forever support arrived in version 16.00, described as initial support, so expect fixes during launch month.

A modular setup if you'd rather keep a working screen no matter what breaks: Bartender4 or Dominos, Plater, Grid2 or VuhDo, and a bag add-on cover most of what ElvUI does.
