WoW Forever Battle Shout reminder without WeakAuras
Updated 2026-11-03
To track Battle Shout in WoW Forever, use a buff reminder add-on such as Opcow's Buff Reminder or Thanks for the Buff, and treat it as a reminder between pulls rather than a live combat tracker. The old approach, a WeakAuras icon, isn't available, because WeakAuras has no Forever build.
We haven't tested these with Battle Shout on the live client, and neither add-on's description names it. Check that your buff is covered.
The options
| Add-on | What it says it does | Forever |
|---|---|---|
| Opcow's Buff Reminder | Reminds you when buffs have expired or are about to | Ships a Forever file |
| Thanks for the Buff | Click-to-cast reminder for missing buffs, plus thanking players who buff you | Ships a Forever file |
| TellMeWhen | Icons you set up yourself | Ships a Forever file, with limits in combat |
| BuffReminders | Points out missing buffs | No Forever file when last checked |
The combat limit
Blizzard's combat rules, written for Midnight, let add-ons display combat information but not read it or act on it, and Forever appears to follow them. TellMeWhen's changelog says its original buff icons don't work in combat as a result.
So an icon that reliably lights up mid-fight when the shout drops may not be possible. A check before each pull is the safer plan. Test yours on a training dummy or an easy fight, and let the buff run out to see what happens.
Without an add-on
Put the shout on a key you press out of habit before pulling, and keep it in view in the default buff row. In a group, ask who's covering it, as this kind of buff is easy to double up on.
Other warrior add-ons are on the warrior page, and other classes are in WeakAuras by class.
