WoW Forever has a built-in swing timer, and players turn it on in Advanced Options. It shows main-hand and off-hand bars, and Edit Mode lets you move it. Blizzard's development notes list fixes to it, including the bar no longer fading out with distance before a swing finishes.

No ranged bar for Hunters

Reported, not confirmed: a player says the built-in timer shows no ranged bar, even with only a bow equipped. We found no staff reply when we checked on 5 November. Until Blizzard adds one or fixes it, Hunters need an add-on to see auto shot timing.

Add-ons with an auto shot timer

  • Nock: a Hunter HUD with an auto shot swing timer, rotation advice, cooldowns and procs. It has a Forever build, though its description is written for TBC Classic, so test it before you rely on it.

We'll add more here as other timers publish Forever builds. Each add-on page shows the date we checked.

Why it matters

Warriors, Rogues and Hunters time abilities around their swings, so a visible timer helps. Hunters also have a dead zone at close range. A timer won't fix that, but it helps you shoot between auto shots.
