A clean Forever UI with five addons
Updated 2026-11-03
Full UI packages look great in screenshots and are a pain when a patch breaks them. A lighter approach: keep the default frames, move and trim them with a few small addons, and you have less to fix when something changes.
The five
- MoveAny or the game's own Edit Mode, to put frames where you want them. Edit Mode handles most frames already; MoveAny reaches the ones it doesn't.
- Bartender4 or Dominos for action bars you can size, fade and hide out of combat.
- OmniCC to put cooldown numbers on buttons, once it has a Forever release. Until then, look in the game's Action Bars options for a cooldown-numbers setting; modern clients have a basic one.
- Leatrix Plus for dozens of small options: hide gryphons, tidy the minimap, faster looting, and so on.
- Details! Damage Meter, shrunk to a small window in a corner.
Twenty-minute setup
- Start with the default layout and the Enhanced preset.
- Open Edit Mode and drag player and target frames slightly below the middle of the screen, so your eyes stay near your character.
- Set up action bars in Bartender4 or Dominos: two bars of twelve under the player frame, everything else hidden until you hover.
- When OmniCC is available, set its minimum duration to about two seconds so global cooldowns don't flash numbers.
- Go through Leatrix Plus once, top to bottom, and switch on whatever annoys you in the default UI.
Why not a full replacement?
ElvUI and similar packages are excellent if you want a complete look and are happy to wait for their Forever updates. The light setup above has fewer moving parts: if one addon breaks, the rest of your screen still works.
Check each addon's Forever status on its page before installing; we update them as authors ship releases.
