Gathering is how most characters pay for their first mount. A few addons make it faster, as long as you understand where their data comes from.

Node maps

GatherMate2 records every herb, ore vein and fishing pool you gather and puts a pin on your map and minimap. Over time your map fills up with the spots you actually use.

Many players import ready-made node databases from older versions of the game. In Forever that's a mixed bag. The original zones are broadly familiar, but Mount Hyjal, Shen'dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle are new, and spawn points in reworked areas may have moved. Let it learn from your own gathering for the first weeks, or wait for a database collected in Forever itself.

Routes and waypoints

TomTom gives you an arrow to any point you set. Pair it with a few known nodes and you have a loop. Some players use Mapster or Leatrix Maps to make the world map easier to read while planning.

Crafting helpers

Profession helpers that show recipe sources or profit depend on data for Forever's recipes and economy, which take time to build. Until they have Forever releases, the default profession window plus a notepad works fine.

Mail and bank runs

Postal makes collecting auction and crafting mail painless: one button to open everything. Small addon, saves real time once you sell regularly.

A word on automation

Addons can show, sort and remind. They cannot gather, fly routes or click for you. Anything that does is a bot, not an addon, and gets accounts banned.
