The community addon that tracked self-made hardcore runs in Classic before official hardcore servers.

The Hardcore addon recorded deaths, checked self-imposed rules and supported community hardcore challenges in Classic before Blizzard ran official hardcore servers. Its authors have released a Forever file.

Forever's own Hardcore ruleset comes after launch. Once Blizzard enforces the rules itself, whether you still want a community tracker depends on what the ruleset covers.

Installing

Download it from the author's page (links under Quick Facts), extract it into _forever_/Interface/AddOns and restart the game. The install guide covers the folder, add-on managers and what to do if it doesn't show up.

FAQ

Does Hardcore work in WoW Forever?

Works. Hardcore has a Forever version on the author's own page. CurseForge lists a Forever file. This is the community challenge addon, not Blizzard's Hardcore ruleset, which comes to Forever later. (Checked 1 Nov 2026.)

Where do I download Hardcore?

From the author's official page on CurseForge. We never host add-on files. Put it in the Forever AddOns folder, not retail.
