Does RareScanner work in WoW Forever?Works. RareScanner has a Forever version on the author's own page.Checked 1 Nov 2026 · source · report what you see

Detects rare mobs, treasures and events around you and shows them on the map.

RareScanner pops up a panel with a target button when it detects a rare or treasure, and marks known spawns on the map. Its author notes that Forever, like Classic, lacks the map markers (vignettes) retail uses, so it detects fewer things than on retail.

Installing

Download it from the author's page (links under Quick Facts), extract it into _forever_/Interface/AddOns and restart the game. The install guide covers the folder, add-on managers and what to do if it doesn't show up.
